Steve Roesler over at All Things Workplace recently hit me up for this fun and interesting book meme.

The idea is to share what we're currently reading or what's on our reading list in the near future.

Part of the gig is to share the sixth through eighth sentences on page 123 from the book I'm currently reading.

Guess what? Page 123 of my book doesn't have six to eight sentences. It has five. And they're not connected to one another.

Hmmm...I'll play along anyways :-)

On my plate is "Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six Word Memoirs by Famous & Obscure Writers."

Thanks for taking up the torch and passing it along, Tom.

As I read the five one-liners I couldn't help but think: What a clever opportunity for a short film. Each one lends itself to a few minutes of a life-scenario with a powerful punchline.

But then again, you probably already thought of it:-)

Director Tom, thanks for the tag...and via Twitter, too! Very cool.And probably a first!

I've been pondering for two days whether I could blog about the book I'm reading right now ... and I can't. I know I could pick another in the queue, but that would just be avoidant of me. So I'll just offer something here in the spirit of the meme, if you'll allow me.

One of our dogs, wee Luigi, died a few weeks ago. He was a sparkplug of a little guy and his big presence has left large holes in our house, ones that even our Newfoundland can't fill. Luigi's groomer sent us a copy of Goodbye, Friend by Gary Kowalski (who, incidentally, is the minister of a UU congregation in Burlington, VT, where we used to live). This is from page 123: "Healing will happen, if we let it..."

We will try to let it.
